Potential Iron Man 3 MAJOR Spoilers

[alert type=”red”]SPOILER WARNING – Potential major plot points are discussed in this article.[/alert]

Earlier today, we reported on the upcoming release of a new toy from the Iron Man 3 range, and the questions that such a toy presented. Well it seems that there is something to this one, and the folks over at Latino Review believe they have it.

But before we jump straight into rumour and speculation, let’s start with a good old fashioned quote. From none other than Iron Man himself, Robert Downey Jr. Speaking to Entertainment Weekly of cameos in Marvel films – now a famous staple of the superhero movies, he said;

“Everywhere you look now in every Marvel movie there are opportunities where certain new pals of his could be useful. So they’re in the atmosphere, so to speak, but I wouldn’t expect to see them on the ground in this one.”

Seems pretty clear-cut. Straight-out denial there, right?

Maybe not. Let’s look at the wording of that, shall we.

“So they’re in the atmosphere, so to speak, but I wouldn’t expect to see them on the ground in this one.”

So if we shouldn’t expect to see them on the ground, where else would they be? And would it have anything to do with that suit the new toy shows off? This leads me to….

[alert type=”red”]FINAL SPOILER WARNING – A HUGE plot reveal is about to be discussed. don’t say we didn’t warn you![/alert]

Okay, that was your last warning. So, we have a ‘Deep Space’ suit, and Downey Jr saying that any characters making cameos in Iron Man 3 wouldn’t be on the ground. Time for a session of ‘2+2=wild speculation’. After the events of The Avengers, where Iron Man found himself in a near-deadly trip into space, it is not outside of the realms of possibility that someone as smart as Stark would construct armour that would better support him should he again need to go higher than most can. And according to sources, that is what he will do.

It is believed at the conclusion of Iron Man 3 – likely in a post-credits scene – Stark dons his new suit and takes a trip to involve himself in one of the other Marvel Cinematic Universe features upcoming…..the Guardians of the Galaxy

Think about it, that is a great way to introduce the Guardians to the mainstream viewing audience ahead of their solo outing in 2014, as well as start the planting of the seeds for the continuation of Phase Two, of course culminating with The Avengers 2 in 2015.

Now of course, this could all be wild and futile speculation, which will be looked back at and ridiculed. Or it could be an early reveal of what will be a quite stunning moment in Marvel movie history.
