Joey Styles explains why WWE are spoiling their own shows

At Tuesday’s Smackdown taping, Alberto Del Rio defeated Big Show to become the new World Heavyweight champion, a story WWE ran on their website, despite the show not due to air until Friday. And two weeks ago, they also reported on Wade Barrett defeating Kofi Kingston for the Intercontinental championship at a Raw taping.

This has led to many wondering why with ratings falling (this past Monday aside, of course), WWE would give away what is due to happen. Well we may have an answer to that question from none other than Joey Styles, Vice President of Digital Media Content for WWE.com, who responded to a tweet from a fan.

So there you have it. WWE would rather spoil their own show, then you find out from another wrestling website.
