As you can imagine, both Apple and Android devices were both big on Christmas wish lists this year with mobile application analytics firm Flurry reporting a record 17.4 million iOS and Android devices were activated worldwide on Christmas day. Flurry also stated that 328 million apps were downloaded globally for both operating systems, and based on data acquired from 260,000 available apps, Flurry suggests that 50 million new Apple and Android devices were activated over the Christmas break. They also figured 1.76 billion apps were downloaded through the Apple and Google stores during the reporting period.

Rovio have also stated on their blog that they have more Angry Birds “surprises” in store for fans in 2013.
