Skyfall becomes the first $1 billion Bond movie

Skyfall has become the first James Bond movie to gross $1 billion.

The Daniel Craig-starring film, released earlier this year, hit the magic $1 billion mark at the worldwide box office over the Christmas period. It has earned £179,280,032) at the US box office and £439,904,665 from international territories. It also passed £100 million barrier at the UK box office. Further huge takings are expected when the film opens in China in the New Year.

The previous Bond record holder was Casino Royale, which earned £369,186,244) upon it’s release in 2006.
